IAB Europe announces new Board and welcomes the biggest new names in digital advertising as members

According to an official press release, today, 23rd June 2009, The Interactive Advertising Bureau Europe (IAB
Europe)
welcomed its new members to the Board. Following its highly successful Interact Congress earlier this month, the trade body for the digital advertising industry is delighted to have the support of these key individuals and to announce five new corporate members.

There were no changes to personnel on the Executive Committee. Chairman Guy Phillipson, CEO of IAB UK; Vice-Chairman Thomas Duhr, Executive Sales Manager of United Media and Treasurer Aude Guerin, General Secretary of IAB France all asked to serve a further year. The number of countries represented on the Board has grown from seven in 2008 to nine of the nineteen country members and reflects the relative maturity of their markets with the UK and
Germany at tier one; Spain, Denmark, Belgium, France and Poland at tier two and Italy and Greece at tier three. IAB Europe is also pleased to welcome back IAB Italy, whose President Layla Pavone, Manager of Isobar Italy, brings agency
expertise to the group.

Corporate representation on the Board has increased to eight: Hi-Media, InSites Consulting and United Internet Media are joined by representatives from comScore, Google, Microsoft Advertising, News Corporation and Orange. IAB
Poland’s Manager Jarek Sobolewski will champion the CEE region and he will be joined in this role by Martin Radelfinger of Goldbach Media who becomes Advisor to the Board on the CEE market.

While there were few changes to personnel, there was an increase in the number of corporate members, reflecting the need to reinforce industry representation during the current challenging economic climate. The Interact Congress was also the backdrop for the release of the eagerly awaited 2008 figures for online advertising: the AdEx Survey revealed that annual growth in the previous year had slowed significantly to under 20% across Europe, but when all forms of
advertising were having one of their worst years, members were heartened that online advertising had managed to show growth, even in mature markets.

IAB Europe is also very pleased to welcome new corporate members to the federation. They are heavy hitters Alcatel-Lucent, Google, Microsoft Advertising, Ernst&Young, News Corporation, Koan, Sonnenschein and Orange.

Mihaela Grafu, Director Executiv al celei mai tinere companii de publicitate online din Romania

Numirea Mihaelei Grafu certifica pornirea oficiala a operatiunilor companiei Digital Ads, care isi propune, in perioada care urmeaza, o existenta juridica in scopuri de trasare mai clara a veniturilor din activitatea desfasurata  pe portofoliul de site-uri al grupului NCH.

Integrarea canalelor media traditionale cu cele online - o provocare?

Se pare ca da, chiar si pentru marketerii americani. emarketer.com publica un studiu conform caruia doar 7% din marketerii din statele unite sunt multumiti de integrarea online-ului cu media clasica. Motivele pentru care considera aceasta integrare o provocare sunt  lipsa unor cifre care sa ii ajute sa distribuie mixul de comunicare intre mediul traditional si cel digital, lipsa de intelegere corecta a mediului digital de catre persoanele cheie din companii, inertia si reticenta de a trece de la mijloace cunoscute si incercate la o zona necunoscuta.
Per ansamblu exista o reticenta generala de a transfera fondurile de marketing de la practici deja incercate si verificate la noile instrumente puse la dispozitie de mediul online, la care se adauga o lipsa de intelegere a conceptelor vehiculate de acest mediu (cel putin la nivel de management general).
Studiul publicat pe site-ul emarketer releva faptul ca atat clientii cat si agentiile au cazut de acord ca, pentru a  eficientiza procesul de integrare este nevoie de instruire in domeniu (new media), stabilirea de obiective clare si bine definite, intelegerea consumatorului, testare si retestare, atentie acordata cifrelor si masuratorilor. Bineinteles nu fara masurarea eficientei investitiei facute! Cat de mult sa justifica integrarea?

Internetul … ce inventie !

Cu ocazia celebrarii a 30 de ani de la prima emisie, NBR (Night Business Report) a facut o lista cu descoperiri importante care au schimbat lumea in aceasta perioada. Un juriu a decis acum trei saptamani topul … in care Internetul este prezentat ca cea mai importanta inovatie aultimilor 30 de ani. Oricum din primele 30 recunoasteti multe cu care va petreceti zilnic mult timp. Aceasta este partea buna.

Partea rea este ca 73% din populatia tarii noastre nu are nici macar abilitatile de baza necesare pentru utilizarea Internetului si se confrunta cu amenintarea excluderii din Societatea Informationala, Romania aflandu-se pe ultimul loc in clasamentul pe tari europene la mica distanta de Bulgaria. Pentru a ajuta la redresarea situatiei economice, Comisia Europeana a lansat Planul de Redresare Economica Europeana care face apel catre Statele Membre pentru a investi mai mult in educatie si reinstruire cu scopul de a proteja cetatenii Europei de una dintre cele mai grele crize economice. Planul vizeaza extinderea conexiunii la Internet in zonele rurale.
Cu toate acestea, daca aceasta investitie nu este suplimentata cu instruire IT, Europa risca o crestere a diviziunii digitale in zone in care nivelul competentelor IT au deja valori sub nivelul mediu european conform raportului Eurostat din 2008 care a indicat in 2007 faptul ca 49% dinlocuitorii unor arii mai putin populate din Europa nu au folosit niciodata Internetul.

1 miliard de internauti

Site-ul emarketer.com publica azi un articol despre numarul de utilizatori la care a ajuns internetul: 1 miliard!

Principalele idei care reies din articol:
-Pragul de 1 milion de utilizatori (IP-uri) a fost atins in 1995 iar cel de 1 miliard in Decembrie 2008 (conform ComScore World Metrix)
- comScore a ajuns la aceasta cifra fara sa ia in calcul si accesul de pe PDA-uri, Internet Cafe si telefoane mobile
- emarketer.com insa vine cu un numar ceva mai mare, calculand orice utilizator care acceseaza internetul din orice locatie: 1.172 miliarde utilizatori.
- se pare ca pe locul 1 este China, ca numar de utilizatori, cu 179,7 miliioane de utilizatori;

Previziunile privind cresterea Internetului sunt optimiste:

- Desi pe locul 1, in China doar 20% din populatie este online;
- India are si ea un potential imens si este de asteptat sa preia locurile fruntase, avand in vedere ca piata este aproape de saturatie in Japonia si Germania.

De la un miliard in sus se va ajunge cat ai clipi, afirma specialistii!

Ora, Ziua, Trimestrul si Internetul

Minim 1 ora pe zi petrecuta pe Internet. Aceasta este timpul pe care mai mult de jumatate din americanii obisnuiti il aloca mediului online, o crestere de 50% fata de anul trecut. Cresterile cele mai mari s-au inregistrat in zona 18-29 ani, studii superioare, necasatoriti si cu venituri in jur de 1800 Euro pe luna. Studiul a fost realizat de Gallup.
Veniturile din internet au crescut in Q3 al 2008 cu 11% in ciuda crizei economice, la 5,9 miliarde USD.
